Unconfirmed firearms discharge - South Road, Waterloo

Officers were called to South Road at the junction with Mount Pleasant at around 9.40pm, when officers received reports that loud bangs were heard in the area.

At this time, there are no reports of anyone being injured and officers have cordoned off the scene while it is forensically examined to establish if there is any evidence of a discharge.

Officers are working to trace two males, thought to be a motorbike in the area at the time the loud bangs were heard and would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area, has dash-cam footage or any information, to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting 1071 of 07.05.19.
