In the early hours of Thursday, 24 May 2018, Stephen Cronin and Bradley Harrington travelled from Liverpool to carry out a grenade attack on a Birmingham man’s home, after being hired by Danyal Gurjee. The attack resulted in extensive damage to the property in Anderton Park Road, Moseley, but thankfully the property was empty and no one was injured. The pair made off in an Audi which was later traced back to Merseyside.

Following an extensive investigation by West Midlands Police which included CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries, Cronin and Harrington were arrested in by Merseyside Police on Thursday, 29 June 2018.

Bradley Harrington, 23 of Access Road, West Derby was sentenced to 23 years in prison for conspiracy to cause an explosion.

Stephen Cronin, 21 of Pilch Bank Road, Dovecot was sentenced to 21 years and eight months in prison for conspiracy to cause an explosion

Dayal Gurjee was also sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Detective Inspector Tara Denn: “This was an extensive and complex investigation in which we assisted West Midlands Police and it is extremely pleasing to see that these dangerous individuals have now been removed from our communities.

“The sentences handed down show exactly how seriously acts of violence such as this are taken and there is absolutely no place for those who commit such crimes in our society. I hope the victim has found comfort in the fact that these individuals will now be behind bars for an extensive period of time.”
